IC 5076 is a small reflection nebula located in the constellation Cygnus, about 2,500 light-years from Earth. Reflection nebulae like IC 5076 do not emit their own light. Instead, they shine by scattering the light of nearby stars off interstellar dust grains. This gives the nebula a soft, bluish glow, typical of reflection nebulae. The interplay of starlight with surrounding dust creates striking visual contrasts, with bright regions surrounded by darker patches where dust obscures background light. IC 5076 is a relatively obscure and rarely photographed target in the astrophotography community
