Object Details

The California Nebula can be found in the constellation Perseus and is an emission nebula. The nebula has the catalogue designation NGC 1499 and Sh2-220 and can be seen from the northern hemisphere during autumn and early winter. The nebula is about 1'000 light years away from the solar system.

This is my first attempt at a mosaic. It is a 2 panel moasic and I stiched it together in Astropixelprocessor. It took over one month to gather all the subframes for this project. The overall integration time is almost 37 hours.
