Object Details

The Eagle Nebula is an emission nebula with the catalogue number Messier 16 and is located in the constellation Serpens. It can be seen in the northern sky during summer. The nebula is about 5'700 light years away from the solar system. The feature in the middle of the nebula is called "the Pillars of Creation", which were photographed in a very famous image from the Hubble Space Telescope. Below I have a comparison with my image and that of the Hubble telescope.
