The emission nebula with the catalogue number Sh2-86 or NGC 6820 is located in the constellation Vulpecula and can be seen high in the northern sky in summer. The nebula is about 6,000 light years away from the solar system. In the image near the centre of the nebula, you can also see the star cluster NGC 6823, which is actually located in the emission nebula.
